RAGHUNATH CAPPO

Servant of the servants | Harmonium hugger | Ex-punk

Raghunath is… Ex-punk, ex-monk, husband, father of five, inversion ambassador, bent on Bhakti, detox junkie, evolution assistant, coalesced by kirtan, cacao consumer, puranic story teller, reciter of Gita, potential excavator, beyond birth and death. He is prana hunter, animal friendly, transcendence in training, born to give – to live today; full contact fighter, devours durians, loves to chant, likes a challenge, servant of the servants, harmonium hugger, conscious of Krishna.

Raghunath born Ray Cappo was a Lower East Side hardcore-punk singer songwriter icon, touring the globe in his teens. In a decadent music scene infested with hard drugs, negativity and intoxication he was an anomaly and a light propounding clean living, positive attitude and vegetarian lifestyle, inspiring tens of thousands of fans internationally. Since his youth he was fascinated with Eastern thought and took his inspiration from Emerson, Ghandi, Thoreau, The Buddhist Sutras, The Bible and the Bhagavad Gita. He started practicing yoga in NYC in 1987 with the esteemed Sri Dharma Mittra as well as Shivananada Yoga. The pettiness of the business of music and the untimely death of his father led him to India in 1988 where he dove deeper into the lifestyle and spirituality of India. He became a celibate monk at a Krishna Bhakti Ashram for 6 years where he intensely studied, meditated and lived the ancient yogic texts. In 1991 in the sacred village of Vrindavan he was awarded the name Raghunath and two years later in that same holy town awarded diksha or the sacred thread, for his study. Now, 24 years later, he’s an accomplished yogi in many styles, and married with five children. Considered a teacher’s teacher, he leads retreats, workshops and yoga teacher trainings around the world and with his wife at their yoga retreat center, Supersoul Farm, located in upstate New York. He is an expert at taking the esoteric yoga philosophy and making it understandable and practical for the contemporary world.

DJ Drez and Marti Nikko

An organic blend of music and movement

DJ Drez’s music has been moving bodies for more than two decades. His sound is an organic blend of mystical hip-hop, reggae roots and Indian raga that has been known to instigate an ecstatic dance party one instant, and soothe a group into a meditative savasana the next. If you’re a fan of Drez, you’ve undoubtedly noticed the mysterious, seductive voice of Marti Nikko gracing dozens of the albums, tracks and remixes he’s released over his prolific career. Nikko’s innate spark illuminates Explorers of Infinity. Her soul-soaked vocals dance and play in the spaces impeccably arranged by DJ Drez, highlighting a natural chemistry developed and enhanced through years of performing, living and loving together. The result is a beautiful, eclectic collection of music made for all sacred movement and moods. In addition to making music, Marti teaches yoga and Pilates in Los Angeles where she and Drez live and love their 13-year-old son and newborn baby girl.

DJ Drez is a sound pioneer. With an ear for cutting edge sonic ambiance, a finger on the pulse of music that makes bodies move, and the vision and skill to obliterate genre and boundary with his own trademark sound and production, Drez has skyrocketed to international acclaim from the dancehall to the yoga shala.

A truly gifted teacher, Marti is known for motivating her students through her own passion. Fully certified in Yoga and the Pilates Method, and having worked in the fitness industry for the past 14 years, she teaches from a deep understanding of movement dynamics and the body. Keeping students engaged using unique modifications and variations to the classic repertoire, her sessions encourage focus and concentration. She continually supports her desires to learn new methods and her ability to help one find strength and ease through practice. She takes master workshops each year and believes in the deep healing power of yoga for all. It is her desire to create space that allows for greater depth, awareness and overall well being in one’s practice.
